Fitness gear for women over 40 covers a narrower set of categories than fitness content in general. We’re less interested in the equipment that wins gyms and more interested in the equipment that survives a normal living room — that someone in this stretch of life will actually use, several times a week, for years.

Most of what we cover here is Level 0 in our medical risk system — lifestyle, equipment, comfort. We don’t cover physical therapy programmes, injury rehab, or anything that needs hands-on clinical guidance. For how we choose what makes the list, read our editorial standards.

The two categories we’ve published in so far are walking and home strength. Both are foundational for women in this life stage; both have noisy product markets where editorial guidance meaningfully helps.
